J's Mini Hot Pot

Great since each person had their own pot. The price is reasonable considering the amount of food they give per person. Came as a party of 5, we all got aprons which was great. They gave a variety of vegetables and a good amount of meat. There are some inconsistencies with the interior design (could use warmer lighting), however overall was a positive experience and would consider coming back.

I found this place as I was traveling home to SC from Atlanta, and I was looking for something healthy. It popped up on my google reviews highly rated, and open, so I decided to give it a try. I've enjoyed hot pot a couple of times in different places, one in Philly, one in Miami, and one in Draper, Utah - all very different ways to order via the menu, and all very delicious. My daughter had never experienced Hot Pot, so this was a perfect adventure. We walked in at about 3:30pm and the place was not busy at all, in between lunch and dinner crowds. We were greeted, and seated, and then our server, Yuri, proceeded to explain the menu, answer all of our questions, help us choose from the menu so we didn't end up with too little or too much food, & she helped us choose our broth (not boring, but not too spicy). She was AMAZING and played a huge role in our overall dining experience. Yuri helped us make our "special sauces" from the sauce bar, brought us the spoons for the hot pot when we forgot to get them off the bar, checked on us regularly, and brought us extra napkins and refilled our water without us having to ask. The robot brought us our food, and that was very neat. Yuri had to help us with that too, but now we're experts for the next time we go - LOL. My only advice, and something I'll do myself next time, is order everything a la carte, simply because I wasn't a fan of the veggie bowl that came with the entree. It had some very interesting and unique items in it, like tofu and tofu skin (just not a fan), fresh tomato slices (not a fan of them hot), and some greens I just wasn't familiar with. Next time I'll order the veggies I know I like, and just order the meats separately too. Everything I choose to put in my Hot Pot, I loved! We had beef and chicken and the dumpling sampler, and I did like the long skinny mushrooms and the spinach from their veggie bowl. I was so pleased with this place, with the service, the atmosphere, and the food. Next trip to Atlanta, I'm sure this will be on our lunch or dinner list! I had a delightful lunch at J’s Mini Hot Pot, my second visit to this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised to learn they have a second location in Chamblee. We opted for the Angus Beef Hot Pot with Vegetarian Broth, and their array of sauce options added a delightful twist to our meal. The fresh assortment of vegetables like Chinese cabbage, tofu, potatoes, spinach, and mushrooms paired wonderfully with the lean beef when dipped in the sauces. The only hiccup was discovering a small hairline in one of the potatoes. The waitress quickly apologized and replaced the potatoes. Even the manager came over to express her apologies and offered us a cup of iced tea as a gesture. As we progressed through the meal, I added raw egg and rice noodles, and the soup was delightful. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

I’m so happy this place didn’t go away and decided to do a grand re-opening ! This place and pot pot is me and my friend’s go to spot for delicious hot pot with the perfect condiments to make for spicy & savory peanut sauce to dip with ! If you love taro, dried bean curd sheets, and more, I would recommend this place ! I have gone twice after the reopening and both times we ordered this meat ring platter to share. Everything tastes great just as it did before the grand re-opening. They do offer daily specials like the yam noodles and a special non-alcoholic drink occasionally (I would stick with water or tea so u don’t get full with a drink plus there are boba shops nearby to go to for dessert). I recommend getting the yam noodles & shrimp paste at least once to try and don’t skimp on ordering veggies ! The only thing I do miss, is them offering shaved ice as dessert but Yakult is now offered instead. Hot pot broths are refilled by the staff as well. For the broths pictured, I believe we had the Tum Yum and tomato based broth but the beef bone broth is always a good choice.
